Dove Maximum Protection - Review

A bit of and odd and personal one today! Ever since I started my new job I have been on the lookout for a really good anti-perspirant. My new uniform is a polyester shirt and it makes me sweat a bit more then usual! No one likes to sweat I really hate it so I wanted something strong to help, and what is better then maximum protection?! I got this is the same scent as my usual dove spray which is the pomegranate and lemon verbena.  It is just a nice fresh scent.

The thing I like about this more then anything else is that this is a cream. You twist the product up, and rub it on your underarms! I like this better then the liquid roller balls because I don't feel that those kind dry fast enough for me!

You apply this at night and do not need to reapply in the morning. This is because it absorbs into the skin better at night when our skin has a more regular temperature then during the day. I was skeptical of this at first but it did really work. If i was going to work an extra long day, say 11+ hours I would re-apply in the morning but for the most part I don't have to. I love that this is by dove too as it makes my underarm skin just that little bit nicer. Another plus note to this is, if you shower in the morning it doesn't make a difference to the fact you applied this the night before, it still works! It is like freaking magic or something! This is a bit expensive, at around £5 a go, but the confidence it gives me that I will have a dry underarm day is priceless. This is worth the £5 for me. I don't think I will buy another spray deodorant after this! Just my pink grapefruit impulse body spray because I love it!!

How Much Did My Face Cost Today? 27/10/13

I am expecting todays face to cost quite a bit more today! i used a different foundation (revlon colour stay which I didn't like at first but now liking it as my skin has got a little oilier) and a bit more products! I did the same blush thing I did the other day with using a bright and a dark blush instead of a blush and bronzer.

I have to apologise for my hair here! There was no hot water! I had to wait till the boy came home and fixed it all!
So onto the face!

Foundation - Revlon Colour Stay Foundation Ivory - £12.49
Concealer - Benefit Fake Up Light - £18.50
Blusher - Natural Collection Peach Melba £1.99
Sally Hansen Natural Collection Blush Dusk - £1
Eyeshadow - MUA Immaculate Collection - £8
Eyeliner - Soap and Glory Eyeliner Brown - £5
Mascara - Revlon Lash Potion - £9.99
Lips - Collection Little Mix Lipstick in Perrie - £2.99

Total Cost £59.96

I have still not hit crazy amounts of money yet! Maybe its because I don't really use primers or expensive foundations! I do not think that the cost of my makeup so far has been too bad, if I was to wear just one of these faces everyday I would say it was worth the money! However I have a lot of makeup in my vanity that will be seeing the light of day soon!

Natural Collection Peach Melba - Review

It has taken me so long to buy the natural collection peach melba blush, but after seeing all the blogger buzz I have finally caved! I got pink cloud ages ago so I know the natural collection blushes are nice, so I was expecting a lot from peach melba, everyone seems to love it! It has a lot to live up to!

I like the packaging with the natural collection products, yes it looks cheap but it is nice to see white packaging rather then black most cheaper cosmetics come in. At £1.99 you can not complain too much, I also really like the screw lid, it may not be to everyones taste but I can not tell you the amount of blushes that my nails have accidentally gone into by trying to open difficult hinge lids!

The product seems really fine, and my brush picks up a lot, it doesn't feel chalky at all and it is really easy to pick up the product, I have some blushes you have to really work with the get colour on the brush to then get on your face, but this is really easy!  Which is perfect because who wants to struggle with difficult products when applying makeup in the morning!

Here is peach melba swatched. I think it looks lovely just the right hint of colour, and although I know a lot of people will opt for a more darker or plumb based blush during Autumn and Winter, I think this may just be my pick this season! I find my favourite way to wear this is with a bronzer for contour and this over the cheek bones. I generally apply more on the higher points of my cheeks by my ears and blend the product down towards the apples of my cheeks. This is just how I like to apply it but of course it still gives a great flush of colour on the apples of the cheeks!

This can easily be built up too, you can either have just a perkier looking face or really go for peach blush either way it is a stunning product and I really get why people wear and love it! I will be honest if I have a lighter foundation on where the pinkness of my cheeks is more visible this product does show up less which is why some people will probably not get on with it. With the right base this looks fab and I cant get enough of it, I think it will be one of those daily staples for a while and has already made it into the two how much does my face cost tags. I do have a peach cream blush that I think peach melba will come into a whole different level when layed over the top of a cream product! I will have to try that combination out!

What blushes do you love?

L'Occitane Hand Cream

Like many people I got this L'Occitane Passionate Jasmin Hand Cream in a magazine, I think it was elle or glamour? I cant remember but I know it retails for £8.

I always think that the price is really expensive for a hand cream so when I found out they were in a mag I got to my local asda asap to get one! I usually use soap and glory hand food and find it does the job, so how does this compare?

First of the pachaging is much better! Its so much more appealing to the eye! It looks more expensive which is what you want really! This contains shea butter which is really hydrating and has a really pleasant smell. I actually pick up more of a peachy or apricot smell rather then jasmin, but I am terrible with scents everything smells fruity to me! This sinks in really quick too, sometimes I wait a while for the S&G one to sink into my skin, but this L'Occitane Hand Cream is a dream. It applys nice and soaks in extremely well, almost as if my hands have never seen moisturiser before and are just gagging to take it all in! I did think that the screw top would be an issue especially as I like the flip cap on S&G but I actually like this better! It isn't too hard to screw on after you have applied the hand cream either which is nice!

This leaves my hands feeling really soft and it lasts a long time too. My fingers have not strated to crack yet when I would usually see them cracking because if the cold weather and typing on computers all day! So in my books this is a winner and most definitely worth the price tag.

What hand creams do you use?

How Much Did My Face Cost Today? 25/10/13

I am expecting todays face to cost a little bit more then yesterdays but not by loads because I only have a lipbalm on, no exspensive lipsticks and I only switched up a few of the products that I used.

Foundation - Seventeen Stay Time Foundation Soft Ivory - £6.49
Concealer - Seventeen Phwoarr Paint - £5.49
Bronzer - Benefit Hoola - £23.50
Blusher - Natural Collection Peach Melba £1.99
Eyeshadow - NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Bronze - £5.00
Eyeliner - Barry M Bold Waterproof Eyeliner Black - £3.99
Mascara - Revlon Lash Potion - £9.99
Lips - Miss Sporty Dr Balm - £2.99

Total Cost - £59.44

In all honesty I think I have done rather well again, the majority of my products are budget friendly in fact the only thing here that isnt is the benefit bronzer! This is a pretty standard face for me, simple eyes simple lips and nothing too fancy! I am off to the doctors today so althoughI make more of an effort on my days off I didnt want to be too full on in the doctors waiting room! Hope you are all having a lovely day!

Have you done this tag before? If so link it below for me to read!

Collection Little Mix Perrie Lipstick - Review

I am not usually one to jump on the band band-wagon, especially considering I do not know one little mix song but when I saw the shade of this lipstick I just knew I needed it! I had been looking for a purple shade and this one jumped right out at me. This is called Perrie I started thinking she must have a rocker edge (can you have a rocker edge in a pop band?) because her part of the little mix collection was full of smokey eye palettes and darker looks.

I like the packaging of this, it looks like other collection lipsticks and the only way you would know it is little mix collection is by the 'lm' on the lid. I feel happy whipping this out in public, which I just couldn't do if I tried say the 1d stuff from mua..... This is band endorsing gone right, everyone can use it and not feel like 'omg I am a 24 yr old woman pulling out a teen girl band lipstick' Im just pulling out a lipstick that happens to be called Perrie!

The colour payoff is nice, it is slightly darker then pastel purple, but not full on vampy plum purple, which is a balance I love. I was all set to buy Airborne Unicorn from Lime Crime but I don't think I will bother now. This is just a nice shade, and if you are considering testing out a more daring lipstick shade you can go a lot worse, and the £2.99 price tag made it easy to buy. It wasn't such a disaster if I didn't really like it.

It wears nice and give a good build up of colour in one swipe. I really only go over it again to sharpen up the edges. It lasts pretty well for a lipstick but is in no way long lasting. I would say it has a semi matte finish. It isn't shiny, sparkly or glossy but it isn't drying either. It has a nice finish and doesn't feel like theres a whole lot of gloop on my lips. I really really like this lipstick! The only problem I had is it took me so long to actually find one! It seemed to be sold out or had been used in every shop I went to!

Have you tried any great lipsticks lately? What is your favourite Lipstick shade?

Barry M Lash Modelling Mascara - Review

We all know I am obsessed with mascaras and my love of this one was a complete surprise to me because the brush was nothing like I was expecting to like. I really like a big brush that allows me to create loads of volume!

This one lets me get right into the roots of my lash and really wiggle in some volume to the roots of the lashes. I like this effect much better as it tends to add the illusion of a thicker lash line. It is easy to add volume to the lashes with this too. In the picture above I have three layers of this on and it only looks clumpy where my lashes are sparse. It also adds a nice amount of length to the lashes. This can tend to smudge after a really long day but as I tend to wear my makeup in a grunge smudged style anyway lately this doesnt bother me at all.

What mascaras are you loving lately?

Things I am Loving

I have been quite obsessed with a few things lately and Im going to share with you a few of my favorite tv shows, films, and books that I just can not get enough of right now!

Lets start with TV
1. Storage Hunters - Thank goodness this is always on Dave I can not get enough of this show, the arguments the amazing hidden treasures and the odd things that people keep in storage!! I am also a little bit in love with poppa bears voice, thats a bit strange but its a bit soulful and rhaspy, I could listen to him all day long!!

2. Nothing to Declare - Now even with sky living just showing the same shows over and over again I can not get enough of people who do not understand you can not take food into Austrailia or the strange ways of trying to conceal drugs.

3. Rude Tube - I currently have this on and a guy is eating a Cactus..... A CACTUS YOU GUYS ...... I think that pretty much sums up that show. Oh now a guy is eating wotsits off a treadmill......

4. My latest netflix obsession is Breaking Bad I have been watching it for three or four days and I am on series 2 now, Badger has just been arressted. NO SPOILERS I just can not believe I left it this long to watch it.

I am back to loving the underworld franchise, I recently got the fourth film and loved it. It was the perfect story to get everyone back, I seriously hope there is going to be a follow up to it, because I just love the films, the third one was a huge let down but now Kate Beckinsale is back in leather and kicking ass all is right with underworld.

I make no excuses about mine and Pawls odd love for B-SciFi movies. I want to be in one, Sharknado, Dragon Wasps, Arachnoquake, Piranaconda I just cant get enough, these are all so bad they are good, and I love them!

Currently I am reading World War Z it is so different to the film and in brilliant ways, I can love the film and book for the different things they bring to zombie apocalyse and I for once am not proclaiming 'the book is so much better then the film' they are both brilliant in their own rights.

I got a physical copy of the hunger game books, this week which I am happy about because as much as I love my Kindle physical books are just so more satisfying!

Do you have any other suggestions for good books, tv shows or films for me?

Seventeen Back Lash Mascara Review

Today I am reviewing the new Seventeen Back Lash mascara. I love mascara's so much. If you saw my latest mascara post you will see just how much I love them, two have been added to my collection since, including this one! I was excited by this because one of my favourite mascaras was the Seventeen Falisifeye mascara.

I was instantly drawn in by the packaging of this mascara, I love the silver tube and I think it looks really nice and a little bit special!
Seventeen Back Lash Mascara
The brush is nice as well, it is quite a chunky brush and I usually go for these bigger brushes, because they can really add volume to my lashes, which is what I look for most in a mascara. I love anything that makes my lashes thicker and look like there is more of them! This is because I have thin long lashes that are quite sparse in places. This mascara claimed to give 100% more lash impact! I wasn't sure what this meant but the back of the tube says it lengthens thickens and gives more impact! Ticking all of the right boxes so far.
Seventeen Back Lash Mascara
Below is a picture of me wearing the mascara, I wore it all day at work, so it has had a full 6ish hours at work and a few more hours wear while I am typing this up now!
Seventeen Back Lash Mascara
Now excuse this picture I have edited it twice, but it has this strange grey cast on it on my screen so I have no idea what it will look like on yours!  :S it makes my skin look terribly tired!! This picture is with three coats of mascara on, and it really does need three coats, one coat did nothing at all, two coats made it look like I had slightly darker lashes and three coats actually make a visible difference. This did add some length to the lashes however that's about where it stopped for me. It didn't thicken as much as I wanted and I think it is partly to do with the brush, this is just a bit too difficult to get to the roots of my lashes and so stops there being an illusion of thick lashes. This mascara also clumped a few of my lashes together which didn't help with my sparse looking lashes :(

However I love how it lengthened them! Oh my days did they look long! If I had more lashes this would be a perfect mascara for me, but sadly I don't!

Have you tried this mascara? What is your favorite ever mascara?

ColourB4 Hair Colour Remover - Review

Hello guys while I have disappeared from blogger world I decided to have red hair (not sure if I have any posts with the red hair or not) but then I decided that no I wanted to go back blonde after about 2 months of red hair. However I had a lot of colour to remove.

I basically put on about 5 different brown dyes over the top of my blondish/purple locks so that the colour would stick and wouldn't fade when I washed it. I then decided brown was a bit boring for me and I got a dark purple dye to put over it hoping it would get me a really interesting brown with hints of purple in certain lights. However what I got was a reddish toned hair. The purple did not take at all. So I then decided what the hell I would stick with red and was putting in a semi perm red dye every 3/4 days. This was probably a bad idea because even while the bright red was fading there were still hints of red to my hair that were just becoming more of a red stain to my hair. So when I made the decision to go back blonde as I have more options with colour I knew I would need a miracle product to help and keep my hair on my head and not falling out in my bath!
I have never used anything like this before and figured it would be my best shot before bleaching as well I knew a bleaching session would leave me orange. All I knew about this products were that they kinda smelt bad!! Never the less I figured I would brave it out! You mix parts A and B like you would any normal hair colourant and apply it to your hair, I washed my hair at least three or four times first to take out as much of the red as possible and then followed the instructions perfectly with this. You apply this to dry hair. I always noticed that the red had stuck more on the top root section of my hair, where old dye had grown out and was my natural colour (just with this semi red on top). So I started at the roots and worked my way down to the ends where the colour was less intense. I did notice this smelt bad but no worse then most dyes I use. It wasn't pleasant to sit in the smell for an hour but it was bearable! So once the mixture is applied you leave it on for an hour. It is less time if you have the regular strength version but mine is extra because I really wanted rid of that red!!

The next bit is rinsing it all off, this is where it started to smell a bit more! It became more potent the more I washed it off!! You need to rinse you hair for a long time and so it is a lot easier to stand in the shower then hand over the side of the bath! First you need to rinse for around 10 minutes, You then take bottle C the buffer which is like a shampoo and using half the bottle lather this into your hair, leave it in for a minute or so, like you would a conditioner and then rinse again for between 5-10 minutes. I just set a timer for 15 minutes both times I rinsed as I just really didn't want to mess this up and the rinsing is the most important part of the process. You then wash your hair again with the buffer and again rinse it out really well. Once your hair has dried you will be left with your finished result. I was pretty impressed with mine it went a light brown shade, with hints of copper, but no red left at all. Which meant after a week or so of rest and lots of deep conditioner I could go ahead and bleach my hair. As I know what colour I wanted to get I had no problem with re-doing my hair, although ColourB4 do suggest you use a semi perm colour if you wanted to change your shade as its less damaging to the hair!
I am happy to say there was no damage to my hair during this process, the shampoo/buffer did leave it feeling a bit dry put a spray in condition fixed that no problem. As you can see the hair was considerably lighter. (Also say hello to Jekyll) I would definitely use this again when I decide on a drastic change to my hair and it is well worth the £11 or so I spend on it (and the smell too!) I am now a suitably pink colour which I am loving to bits right now!

Have you ever used ColourB4? What were your results?

Lots of Love
