TV Shows That Are Distracting Me

We all have our own little bits of distraction mostly I watch films or read a book but lately a few TV shows have really got my attention and I spend most of my time going 'well if I do this now I will have time to watch this show'

1. The Walking Dead

It is back for its fifth season and oh my days was episode one a heart racer! I loved every second and I can not wait for monday nights when I get back home and get to watch this after work.

2. Release The Hounds

This is a UK TV game show where groups of three go into the grounds of a house and they are filled with gory tasks to complete to get money. After each round you get told how much of a 'head start' you have and one of your team member has to win your money by running away from a pack of trained dogs. Its scary and its amazing to watch!! Some of the tasks have been horrible especially the clown with the chainsaw!!

3. American Horror Story

I stopped watching during season 3 I like the idea of a coven but it just was not as good as other series of the show. But I have to admit I am really liking the freak show element so far. Adds a great new chapter to the story and I can not wait to see what happens next!! (P.S that clown is super creepy)

4. Ghost Adventures

It is so corny I love it, I love to go on ghost hunts so I love watching ghost hunting shows on TV this is one of my favourtie ones to watch and despite what people say I do not think that this one is entirely made up, sure some bits are for entertainment but some of it is pretty damn good!!

5. Breaking Bad.

Ive already watched all the shows before but I really fancied watching them again! It has been one of the best TV shows I have watched in a long long time!

What TV shows do you think I should try? There are a lot of good super hero ones coming out in the uk soon like Gotham, The Flash, so I might end up watching those, and everyone keeps saying I should watch Orange Is The New Black. Anything Else I should watch?

October Glossybox Pop Art Box Review

This review is going to be a little bit different as I have not put a picture of what was in my box instead you will have a youtube video of me showing you!

In the box
Rimmel Matte BB Cream - Light
Ciate Paint Pot - Snow Virgin
Yves Rocher - Quelques Notes D'amore L'eu de parfum
Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche
Etre Belle - Liplift Peel
So Susan - Flutter Mascara

Out of the 6 items four of them were full size, which was really generous and to my workings out the box came to around £67.67. I tried to work out sample size prices but glossybox always values them higher then they are and then one price was in euro's so I just gave a rough price cost for that.

Overall I am really happy with the box, the design is one of my favorite ones they have made, I love the colourful theme, I do wish I got a coloured polish to match the theme instead of a boring white, but there is not a lot I can do about that!

This box has convinced me to give glossybox another month to proove themselves as the box is really great, I just hope the next one lives up the the expectations of this one!

Harry Potter Warner Bros Tour

Last Saturday I had the most magical experience I have ever had in my life. As a massive Harry Potter fan getting to go to the Warner Bros tour was such a great experience for me. To see all the props walk around it sets and see all the concept art was so amazing.

Im not going to post all the pictures here (spoiler I took over 1000) but I will tell you it is worth every single penny and is such a brilliant day out and would make a brilliant present for any fan of the books or the films.

 The cupboard under the stairs.

Files from the ministry of magic.

Me outside Privet Drive standing all wonky!!

 The amazing Diagon Alley.

One of the most spectacular things I have seen this scale model of Hogwarts is HUGE

ALL OF THE WANDS (there was thousands one for everyone in the film)

playing out my stepson me and pawl :)

Have any of you guys been? What did you think?

Green Eyes Burgundy Lips

This eye look was actually part of a upcoming halloween look but I really liked how it turned out! And rather then take it all off to film some 'normal videos' I left the eye look and teamed it with a byrgundy lip colour.

I think the two colours go really well together and it is something a little bit different for me!  What do you think of this look?

Shaveworks - The Cool Fix - Review

So when the Shaveworks The Cool Fix landed in my latest Birchbox I got very excited! It is an after shave gel that has been desgined to treat ingrown hairs, razor bumps, razor burn and redness.

The idea of this gel is that you use it daily and after shaving on dry skin to help ease the associated razor burn from shaving!

Honestly when I used The Cool Fix for the first time I was in for a shock I figured it would feel a bit like a cooling gel, oh no, its tingley on your skin almost like putting on aftershave! It stings!

It only lasts a few seconds but afterwards my skin felt cooler and looked less red. I tend to use this on my underarms just teo minimise any ingrown hairs and mostly to cool the skin, I wont use it on my legs due to fear of it reacting with my eczema but mostly so far all I can say is that I am enjoying this little product. There's not a lot to say about this other then after the initial sting it is rather cooling and nice on the skin, it feels softer and less dry on my underarms now I use this after shaving.

Have you used this? What did you think of it?

October Birchbox - Work It - Coppa Feel

So I finally picked up my October Birchbox from the post office and I am so excited to get this one.

This month Birchbox is in partnership with CoppaFeel giving you tips of what to looks for as indicators and early detection of breast cancer. This is a great partnership as October is breast cancer awareness month. I was really impressed with this as honestly I know I should check regulary but I do not really know what to look for whereas now I do! So a big thanks to Birchbox for sending out such important information.

The other theme for this box is 'Work It' so the box contains everything you need to get ready for your 9-5 job. Not that I work 9-5 but oh well its filled with some great products!

Inside is
A Birchbox pen shaped like a lipstick! It is actually pretty cool!
KMS Hair Play - A dry wax texturising spray
Cattier Pink Clay Mask - You get two 12.5ml sample of this so a really generous sample.
The Cool Fix - This is for after shaving to sooth irritation and reduce the amount of ingrown hairs
Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum - A nice lightweight serum that gives a nice glow
Pixi Lip Balm - This is not a shade I would have picked but its a really nice tinted balm.

A long with everything else I think this is a nice box. The packaging could have been better I think the box would have looked nicer in pink or with a handprint on to match the Coppafeel logo.

You can get Birchbox here for £12.95 if you use by referal code you get £5 worth birchbox points to spend in the Birchbox store. If you sign up this month Birchbox will also give £1 to Coppafeel.

Here is the referal code http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=57067

Comme Des Garcons 2 - Gift Idea

The other day I got this sample of Comme Des Garcons 2 (CdG2) and it is unisex perfume. This smells different to me and my partner I think we pick out different scents in it.

Here are all the notes that are in the fragrance. Japanese Sumi ink, incense, patchouli, cedarwood, angelica root, vetiver, magnolia, amber, labdanum, new aldehydes, cumin, cade oil, absolute maté, abslolute foli.

I really smell the incense, amber and the cedarwood it smells very warm and earth like to me. It is a instant smell that is instantly warming and then it lasts such a long time. Me and Pawl both get compliments when we wear it which is always nice, I think because it has such a strong earthy warm scent it really appeals to people.

The packaging on the full bottles is really interesting it is almost shaped like a pebble and is a reflective silver colour. It looks very stylish! This is a rather expensive scent the cheapest place I have found it is Escentual which has discounts on the RRP.

Pawl is pretty impressed with this too. From a mans point of view he likes the smell but most of all he likes that it stays a strong scent on him for around 4 hours and then gets lighter later on in the day. He currently has Davidoff Cool Water but he likes this one much better because it lasts longer. I definately think I am going to get him a bottle of this for christmas as I think it makes a great gift for a loved one.

What are your favorite scents?

Halloween Nails

Today I tried some Halloween inspired nails! I used Rimmel Nail Nurse as my base coat, it's really helping my nails to get stronger, I used Nails Inc New York Noir, Sally Hansen Ivory Skull, and Nails Inc Matte Top Coat, I was going to keep the little ghosts all glossy but I decided matte looked better!

All you need to get this is paint all your nails but one black, decide which nail will be your accent nail and paint that one white! Using a dotting too add little eyes to all the nails and then a mouth to your ghost! I decided to make the little eyes all point different ways just to make it looks interesting.

I need to tidy this up and just practise with the dotting tools but I am really happy with how this turned out.

Makeup Revolution Blush - Love - Review

Ever since I picked up the makeup revolution blush in treat I knew I wanted to try some more. I picked another peach shade. This time I picked up the blush shade love.

This is much cooler in colour and gives a nice natural flush. I like to wear this one high up on my cheeks and no contour as this warms up my face lightly.

You can see the shade is peach toned witha hint of pink in it. However sadly I do not like this one as much as the other Makeup Revolution blush I own. The Love blush shade just doesnt apply as nicely and doesnt feel as smooth. this one goes on rather heavy and you need such a light hand. However that being said for £1 Makeup Revolution Blush in Love is a nice blush shade if you want to try something new.

Halloween Idea

The other day I popped into a fancy dress shop and picked up some liquid latex and some gel blood! Perfect for some blood and gore filled looks!

Honestly as good as this can look (this is my first try) liquid latex smells so horrible it actually makes my eyes water!!

I think the blood is a little bit too bright red. However mixing a bit of the fake blood with some brown shadow makes for some pretty cool bruises. For my first play around with liquid latex I am happy, time to practise some more!

Are any of you dressing up for Halloween?

Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara - Review

So as a complete makeup junkie I do not know how it has taken me so long to pick this one up. The Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara is a 24hr curling mascara.

This mascara has a very interesting wand that makes application so easy, It is slightly curved which you can see a bit more clearly in the next picture. I love the short bristles it really makes getting to the roots of the lashes easily.

The formula of the mascara really lengthens the lashes, not something I usually go for but it adds a nice lift and with one coat adds a nice bit of volume to the lashes too. You can really see the difference this makes to my lashes. Its a really nice mascara that looks like I have super long lashes and it darkens them really nicely, there is nice seperation on the lashes with no clumps.

Here it is on both of my lashes, and I really think it opens up my eyes.

Have you tried this mascara? What are your thoughts on it?

Organised Makeup

This week I have tried to organise my makeup as best as possible with the small amount of space I have!
I have one of those 4 drawer plastic sets the bottom two contain craft items as they are big enough to contain everything, then ontop of those I have a few storage bits and then some bottles and hair stuff! I also have a desk with a pull out drawer.
So my first acrylic storage contains things I really want to have on show, things I love and theres a mini moisturiser and eye cream hiding behind MAC face and body.

The other storage bit has mascaras lip liners a few eyeliners a beauty blender and a few other bits. Behind that I have my sprays, hair bits and cleansing waters.

Next up Ive decided to put an acrylic storage holder on my desk with either lipsticks I love in or things I want to blog about it.

In the first of my larger drawers I have all face items so my foundations my primers my powders my concealers and blush and bronzers all live in here. In the little birchbox bag I have a few samples to keep everything in one place.
The next drawer down has eyeshadow palettes a box of loose eyeshadows and a pot of eyeliners. There is also a box of nail polish in here too theres not many because my boyfriend hates me painting my nails in the bedroom!

In my desk draw I have two trays of lipsticks, theres a headband and mirror at the back I like this set up more then I had before.
Finally on the other side I have a random box, and then all my brushes with a few cotton pads and some jewellery bits to the side.

I am so happy with this set up right now I can pretty much see everything and I can get to everything easily.

How do you store everything?

My Boots Christmas Gift Guide For Women and Men

So I have had a while away from blogging due to some pretty horrific sickness bug I had but I am back, and my mind is firmly on Halloween and Christmas! I have to think about Christmas early as I have limited funds and need to budget so in my week off I started marking off what would make great gifts from the Boots Christmas Gift Guide. I love to get things from boots as the 3 for 2 is a really good deal. I will break this post down into men's and women's! Most of the items here are more reasonably priced with nothing on the list costing more then £20.

1. Soap and Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl

This is a great gift 4 amazingly pigmented Soap and Glory Eyeliners which come with a little makeup bag. It costs £14 and considering the eyeliners are £5 each you are getting a pretty good bargain there.

2. Tony and Guy Matthew Williamson Gift Bag

This is great for any hair lover not only does it have a cute bag design, it has a dry shampoo, a hairspray and a heat protector for your hair and at £12 I think that it is a great deal.

3. Fatface Coin Purse and Hand Cream

This set has my mom written all over it, she loves to buy purses and hand creams and this gift has her summed up in one! At £10 it is a perfect stocking filler or a main gift for all those people you do not know what to buy!

4. L'Oreal Revitalift Day and Night Cream

Now granted you are not saving much by buying this set around £4 but a nice box of skin care is always appreciated in my house, best part of this is they have the Age Perfect line in a gift set and the Skin Perfection line for older or younger skin as well. So you could get a skin care set to cater for any age. This one costs £20 and other sets vary in price.

5. Bleach London Rainbow Hair Kit

This is a gift for either the older teenager/young adult or anyone who is a fan of colourful hair! This includes 6 bottles of Bleach London Semi-Perm Hair Dyes (not full size) but at £12 is a really great price, they are split up in the box in pink tones and blue tones each with their own little carry bag so you could even split this into 2 gifts. I love these dyes and find they last a real long time on my hair they wash out and fade nicely and I would personally love to receive this!

1. Gillette ProGlide Grooming Set

I know my dad loves to get a razor every Christmas and as it is such an easy gift we all argue over who is buying it! Usually the child with the least spare cash buys him this present then the rest of us pull together to get him something else (this year he wants a go pro!!) but this makes a seriously good gift, not only do you get the razor but you get extra razor heads and you get a bottle of shaving cream. At £20 it is a great price when you consider how much razors and blades can cost.

2. Babyliss For Men 10in1 Titanium Groomer

I got this for my lovely other half last year when it cost £29.99 Now it is down to £19.99 and I really think you should snap it up, I don't know if its the word titanium or the fact its a 10 in 1 trimmer but I honestly think he loves this more then the car radio I got him! It is a chargeable razor system so if your man is not into the wet shave this is brilliant it comes with different grades and all sorts and basically is men's heaven in hair removal considering its relatively cheap price it works just as well a year later as it did the day I got it for him.

3. Sock Sandals

I suppose you can get novelty socks from anywhere but these make me laugh every time I see them!

4. Taylor's Port Cheeseboard Set

A cheeseboard makes a perfect sophisticated gift. This doesn't come with cheese sadly but you get a nice slate board, some port, some oat cakes and two mini chutneys. At £16.50 I think it would make a great gift for any guy.

5. FCUK Crowd Pleaser Body Spray

This trio of scents will make a great gift for anyone. It is your typical smelly gift but these actually work really well. I have got people the FCUK sets for years and would recommend them over the Ted Baker stuff every year. This set of three sprays will only set you back £10.

Let me know if you would like a post like this aimed at children and teens because I know they can also be tricky to buy for! What do you think of what I have picked? Have you had a chance to look at the boots gift guide yet?
