A while ago on my blog I did a whole series on 30 days of lipstick, where I posted every day for thirty days thirty different lipsticks. Now I usually do not wear makeup to work unless I have woken up really early so I am not going to do this over 30 consecutive days however I will do this twice a week. So the series will run for a while. If you want to join in please do. I am going to be posting these on my facebook page and my instagram so follow along and use the #30DaysOfMakeup hashtag!

Revlon Liquid Quick Dry

My obsession with nail polish is quickly growing and I love trying out new colours and experimenting a bit more with what I do with my nails. However the one thing I really really dislike is the waiting around for your nails to dry. I am so impatient that I always end up ruining my freshly painted nails.

Insert, the Revlon Liquid Quick Dry. This little ingenious product is a liquid designed to make your nails touch dry almost instantly. Think placing your hands in cold water, but in a bottle! What I like about this is that it does make your nails touch dry within 60 seconds. So I feel it is  pretty useful little product. It also leave the nails looking really glossy after applying so there is almost no need for a top coat (brilliant news for me as I often don't have time for a second nail polish to dry!)

There are a few downsides to the Revlon Quick Dry, it smells a lot like cheap nail polish remover and the scent can be a little overpowering at first. The brush inside isn't the best at fanning out so its difficult to apply an even layer all over your nail in one swipe. Also it is a lot better to load the brush us with product and swipe on your nail then trying to drain off some of the excess. If you drain off the extra product from the brush I find it can drag and ruin your nail polish.

Overall despite the little niggles about this I am really impressed and happy I picked it up, it has sped up the time it takes me to do a manicure now and I no longer feel like it is such a chore.

Have you tried the Revlon Liquid Quick Dry? What did you think?

June Makeup Favoruites

Its a bit early in the month for favourite posts but when you have found your favourite makeup bits for the month you just know. Mine can make a really simple fast look, and all I would need is some more dramatic lipstick if I was feeling adventurous.

I have
1. Liz Earl Eye Bright - A must if you suffer from dry eyes and hay fever.
2. MAC Face and Body
3. Baby Lips Lip Balm
4. Benefit Roller Lash - Its amazing at lengthening and separating my lashes
5. Lord and Berry Bronzer - Great to add some warmth to my face
6. Wild Kat Makeup Eye Shadows
7. Natural Collection Blush - Peach Melba is the perfect everyday shade
8. Mac Lipstick - Please me is one of my go to shades for an everyday lip look.

I absolutely love these new shadows from Wild Kat Makeup, Limerence the golden shade is just beautiful and I don't think I ever want to be without it. It is the perfect gold shimmery shadow. I can do my everyday face using these products pretty simply, it takes me less then 10 minutes in the morning which is amazing and I feel refreshed and presentable for the day! The blush and bronzer together give a really nice summer glow to the skin.

If you could only pick a few key bits for your summer makeup, what would you pick?

Tettenhall Towers Ghost Hunt

For my birthday I had booked a local ghost hunt with two of my friends at Tetenhall Towers. The group who hosted the even were Darkside Ghost Hunts who were hugely professional and really welcoming. They also had a huge range of equipment to use ranging from Ouija boards, to haunted dolls, k2 devices and even a spirit box (which I got very excited about).

Tettenhall Towers was build by Thomas Pearson but now forms part of Tettenhall College. The building itself is fascinating, and is so easy to get lost, parts of the building are used for school (we had activity in the music room) but there is a lot of cellar place and attic space to be investigated. Below are some of the pictures I took.
A wall in the attic space.

This large board banged at one point in the night during free time.
Possible Orbs (more then likely dust particles)
This machine lights and beeps when 'spirits' are near by, it quickly beeped as I walked out of the corridor.

The event started at 9pm where we were given some history about the building, along with a run through of the equipment the team had brought. We then had a quick tour/run through of the areas we would be investigating.

We started with a large group seance, where one guest was moved from front to back and swayed side to side, by a means of answering questions. Some of the equipment was going off in a corridor to signal a spirit was close by, there was a lot of flashing and noise from the machine. We were all holding hands in a circle during the seance as to ensure no one tampered with machines. Once the seance was over we returned to a hall for a quick break where we were split off into smaller groups. My group went into one of the cellar rooms where we conducted some table tipping. The table moved around quite a lot while pinning people up against walls. It was at this point I was asked if I wanted to have a go at the spirit box. I have wanted to use one of these for such a long time. A spirit box is a device that constantly scans radio frequencies with the idea that a spirit will use these to say words. Mostly it is a lot of static and the odd few musical note, but occasionally words come over. We went to a separate part of the cellar underneath the strange and I had headphones on the listen to the spirit box while being blindfolded at the same time. The same words 'stop' and 'listen' kept coming over on the box until the very end, just as i was touched on the knee to signal I could take off the blindfold and headphones the words 'fuck off' came over the spirit box.

This was when I rejoined my group who were mid session on a Ouija board with a spirit asking to be set free. We ended the session and returned for a break where we were given time to roam freely. During this time me and my friends went back down to the cellar where we had the original seance. A large board banged, we tried to find an explanation as some other people were walking around. But it didn't really explain the bang. As I placed a device that would make noise if a spirit was near by into a corridor it went off as I walked away. I cant say for certain if there was a spirit there or a small malfunction as it didn't happen again. I took a few pictures along with some other girls and we all experienced possible orbs. However after finding the same on all cameras we were using (there were six of us) I think more then likely it was dust particles floating around.

Then it was time for another break and we again went off into our groups. This time we were up in the attic where we had some movement on table tipping, family members coming over on glass divination and a rather scary moment when 'ZO ZO' was spelt on a Ouija board. Then whichever spirit was in charge of the board repeatedly kept going to goodbye. We left the area an joined up for our last seance as one big group again. This is where things got a little creepy for me. While holding hands in the circle I kept feeling uneasy, my head itched and I kept feeling a scratchy itchy feeling on my neck. We turned on a torch where one of the group leaders found a scratch on my neck. We decided to use a k2 meter as a form of communication with the lights coming on to indicate yes. There was a spirit in the room which was unfriendly, it had told another person to fuck off multiple times over the spirit box. It was decided that the men would go in one cellar room and the women to stay in the same room. As soon as the men left the k2 meter spiked. I then started to feel really cold and was shaking quite a lot. The group leader asked if the spirit was standing next to me and the k2 meter spiked again. I started to get a bit freaked out at that point if I am honest! I have never had anything happen to me personally during a ghost hunt.

The hunt finished not long after that and I have to say it was a pretty eventful evening. After sleeping everything over I am not quite as scared as I was over the whole scratching incident. I think the more ghost hunts I am going on the more I am opening myself up to things happening. While there my one friend who I always do ghost hunts with was told she should go to drakelow tunnels which is actually where we are going next month! It will be really interesting to see what will happen then!

Have you ever been on a ghost hunt, what do you think of them? and do you believe in the paranormal?

My First Pandora Ring

So it was my birthday on the 12th of June and one of my presents was a Pandora ring.
I squealed like a little girl when I saw it was the tiara ring, I had been looking at it for a long time and although I am not a huge ring wearer I have to admit that this one really took my fancy!

The ring that my mom got me was actually two sizes too small so I had to go and exchange it. I can not get over how nice all of the staff are in Pandora and I really felt comfortable talking to the sales girls in there. I explained that the ring was too small and they took their time to find me the right size. We chatted about how I didn't really wear rings and didn't know the best way to wear this one as it was such a statement piece I felt it looked a little bit out of place with nothing else. They suggested I doubled the ring up with a really small thin band, I had such a great time trying things on to match my new ring. I have found one I want but couldn't afford it on the day I went to exchange my ring. But the sales girls never once made me feel bad about wasting their time. They seem to really want you to enjoy their jewellery. The sales girls also suggested I buy a few cheap silver rings from primark so just for now I could try different fingers, and see which one I like to wear rings, and then suggested I come back for another ring when I felt ready. I swear nothing makes me love a brand more then amazing customer service. I have actually been browsing the website and there are two rings that I plan to buy. I have to say I completely see why people want to have Pandora jewellery, not only is it amazing quality and really nice everyday, and statement pieces but the service is second to none.

So I am now a total Pandora convert! I think a lot of my money is going to go there now! Sorry to my bank account but I think I might depleat you on a few rings!!

Which Pandora jewellery do you like? I know a lot of people like the bracelet and charm sets.

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Petunia - Review

When I saw the advert for the new Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks I had to go out and get one. The gel technology claimed to give you a true colour in one swipe. I was really interested to see how these would work.

Can we all just take a second to marvel at the beautiful packaging! I am 100% sold on these for the packaging alone. The Silver tube and the clear almost crystal effect lid....ugh its just beautiful. With the added bonus of being easy to see what the colours look like. Revlon have really outdone themselves on the packaging front. The shade I picked was Petunia (820) It is a bright pink colour. There is a 20 colour shade range in the Ultra HD lipsticks however I struggled to find a nice base nude colour, one I thought looked good was actually a bit orange, and then there was a great gold nude but not the right colour for me, and everything else tended to fall in between baby pink, and red. Nice colours don't get me wrong, but nothing I could see becoming a nice effortless everyday colour.

The swatch actually takes two coats to become true to colour, so Revlon actually fall short on their own claims there, which is a shame. The lipstick itself is really very soft without the presence of any wax in the formula which I found at first a bit difficult to use, it is a lot easier with a lip brush and you get a more precise line that way too.

I would also suggest trying to find a lip liner that would match as I found that the lipstick migrated a bit. I think because of the formula it moved around a bit an collected in the corner of my mouth, which is not a good look! You will definitely need to keep a mirror handy and there is no way I would feel brave enough to eat with this on. However I cant get over how amazing it looks on. It is so comfortable to wear and look really beautiful! I'm actually torn on this because aesthetically this pleases me in every way possible, but just lets me down on the actual practicality of the lipstick!

Have you tried the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick range? What do you think of them?

June Glossybox - 2015 The Festival Edit

The theme of this months Glossybox theme was the festival edit. I was really excited by the fact you got three full size products in this box.

Heres what you get in the box

1. Kueshi Anticellulite Booster - £14.55 full size.

2. Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes.Travel Size £1.20

3. Essence Gel Nail Polish - Full Size £1.71

4. Monu Spa Rosewood Reviving Mist

5. Glossybox Tattoos Full Size £6.50

The one item I was really excited about the Kueshi Anti Celluite Booster. I am trying to get summer ready and toning my legs is top of that list! So hopefully this along with a lot of water will help to reduce some of the cellulite on my legs (aswell as regular exercise hello gym membership)

I like the nail polish but would have loved a more summer appropriate colour, dark blue doesn't shout summer to me. The temporary tattoos are almost like an insult, how they can put a £6.50 price tag on these is beyond me. They come in no packaging, and are just an odd size to use around your wrist or anything. I also think the glossy box logo as a temporary tattoo is a little bit tacky. I am really disappointed at my re-introduction to glossybox. I was really looking forward to it, but both glossybox and birchbox kind of disappointed me this month. I am going to do a comparison between the boxes on my youtube channel so make sure to check that out.

June Birchbox 2015 French Sole

I had no idea what to expect in this months Birchbox when I found they were collaborating with French Sole.
I knew you could pick from one of three box designs and you would get a matching shoe bag too. I went for the classic stripe because I thought it suited me better, there was a flower water colour option and I am fairly certain a sweet option too.

Inside is an impressive SIX items, seven if you include the shoe bag (birchbox count it as a lifestyle bonus)

1. Cynthia Rowley Lip Stain in Poppy - this was one of the smallest makeup samples this month but was really the one I wanted the most. This is a really fun red based coral colour and has little shimmery particles in it.

2. Balance Me Moisturising Body Wash - This costs £9 (I am assuming it is full size, 100ml seems like it would be full size) this has Shea Butter in it to really hydrate skin, at first I was no excited about this as I am sure it has been a free gift with a magazine lately but the more I read about it the more I think it could work for my dry skin.

3. Yes To Cucumbers Facial Wipes - For ten wipes these cost a HUGE £4.99!! They had better be worth it that is all I can say! I think I will use these to quickly refresh myself when I am at the gym, rather then to remove my makeup.

4. Penhaligon's Irish Orima Perfume - I am not a huge fan of getting sample perfumes (however the birchbox ones seem to be ok smelling I have enjoyed three out of the five or so I have had) this is a more musky smell so will probably be right up my street.

5. Hip Ultra Shine Shampoo - Honestly I am a bit bored with the shampoo samples from birchbox now, this one is sulphate and paraben free, and smells of peppermint and eucalyptus oil. However the formula is designed to make your hair look shiney and healthy and these kind of shampoos tend to make my hair greasy, so I think I will pass on this.

6. Stylondon Temporary Tattoos - Shockingly these cost £7.99 I know they are supposed to be really trendy right now but I doubt I will use these other for a giggle and a trip down memory lane!!

You definatly get your monies worth this month, I have seen some other boxes have cowshed products and ren products. So there is definatly a lot of variety to this month. Although I liked most of this box something just feels a bit lack luster with mine. There are definatly better boxes out there!

If you feel like signing up to Birchbox use my referal link and we both recieve £5 to spend in the birchbox store.
 https://www.birchbox.co.uk/invite/wwsb9

You can use the code JUNE100 at the checkout to get an extra £10 of birchbox points giving you £15 to spend straight away, or
WHICHBOX5 will get you £5 off your first box! Making the value even better.

As always Birchbox can end these codes and deals at any time. Codes are for new sign ups only.

Wild Kat Makeup Eyeshadow Review

Well I was a little bit excited to get these in the post lately mostly because I have been waiting about 2 months for these and also because they are a makeup brand from a youtuber I really love, Katherine at WildKatMakeup. You can purchase the eyeshadows here from reelstyle.

There are three colours to the collection
Limerence - A glittery gold
Wolf - A shimmery Burgundy
Cicatrix - A matte Brick Red

The packging looks a bit like mac pots, and I really love the typography on the plastic window. It is such a beautiful looking font.

I have a slight issue with the lids of these, that they rattle about a bit and are not quite secure as say my urban decay single shadows which sometimes I have difficulty opening!

The quality of these is amazing and although they cost $7 they feel a lot more expensive and I was really impressed by the pigmentation of these shadows. They blend efforlessly and you really do not need to use a lot of product to get a really bold look out of them. I think they are all great, they all have a selling point so there is a shadow if you love glitter, or shimmer or like a matte look better. I especially love limerence, it is fast becoming one of my all time favourite shadows.

I can't wait for more colours to be added to the range! Fingers crossed that happens soon.

Gym Makeup

Ok so gym makeup might seem like a stange concept, but I really only mean minimal makeup here!

I suffer from redness in my cheeks and quite like to even and mask it as much as I can.

Here are the products I use

Ginvera BB Cream
Seventeen Doll'd up Mascara
Jelly Pong Pong Bronzer Duo
and
Carmex Lip Balm

I apply a BB cream all over my face and a small amount of blush, just to inject some life into my skin. I then apply a thin coat of mascara and some lip balm.

As you can tell it makes for a very minimal look and take no time at all. It helps me feel a bit more confident walking into a room full of strangers and I just feel better after covering some of my skins problem areas.

Do you wear makeup to the gym or do you think I am crazy?!

Subtle Gold Eyeliner Look

I love playing about with makeup so when I was looking through my collection today and found my gold eyeliner from Barry M I just had to use it.

The look I came up with is quite simple a winged liner look with the gold eyeliner on the waterline. It shows up best when light hits it and isn't too noticeable. It's just nice and subtle which is exactly how I like my makeup.

I lightly filled in my brows and played around with contour. I've not mastered the skill yet but I think I am getting better.

I wish the pictures picked up the gold but it's so subtle I'm not surprised that you can't see it. I'm also still playing around with the benefit they're real eyeliner I can't master it and get a good crisp line. I may just have to give up!

What do you think of the overall look?
